First and foremost, I am a believer in the ONE true God. I believe Jesus is my savior. I also believe in love. I believe hating people is not what Jesus came to earth to sacrifice Himself for. I am a recent doctoral graduate and the CEO of a nonprofit that I founded in 2017. I am a mother of many, as I foster and have adopted. I care about our youth and creating a foundation early. I am a survivor of poverty, domestic violence, homelessness, and childhood abuse. I care about freedom for all, and that only through UNITY can we see a difference in our state.
Promoting state transparency and accountability is essential, even when the results may be unflattering. It is our duty to uphold the principles of open governance, ensuring that citizens are informed about the actions and decisions of their leaders. This commitment to oversight fosters trust in public institutions and empowers individuals to engage in the democratic process, ultimately leading to more informed and effective policy-making. In a healthy democracy, facing uncomfortable truths is a necessary step towards improvement and public confidence.
The investment in our schools is an investment in both our future and present, and it's essential for building a stronger, more prosperous society. We must prioritize educational funding to ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed, because education is the foundation of progress.
Understanding the root cause of economic stagnation and addressing the needs of struggling families-those trying to make ends meet or save for their future- should be our priority. The focus is just as impactful as the needed investments in roads, infrastructure, and our farming communities.
The rise in shootings, along with the insufficient support for both the victims and the officers protecting and serving, does not reflect the values of Kansas. Our communities and law enforcement deserve protection, support, and unity to ensure safety and stability.
